William Don Jenkins left this life on September 23, 2024 at the age of 86. He is the beloved father of Chuck Jenkins of Cincinnati and Doug Jenkins; cherished grandfather of Carter Jenkins; loving sister of Linda (Jim) Gasparott; dear cousin of Scott Siddall; loving uncle of Mark, Scott, Melinda, Deanna and Lisa.
He was preceded in death by his treasured wife, Carmalieta (nee ) Jenkins; his parents, La Rue (nee Siddall) and Randall Jenkins; his nephew Brian Gasparott; and his first wife and sons' mother, Elaine "Shaine" (nee Hamilton) Jenkins.
Bill was born in Ravenna, Ohio and was a graduate of Ravenna High School, class of 1953 . He went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Education from Bowling Green University in 1957. He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Oahu. Bill always stayed committed to his alma mater and at one point became Assistant Vice President and Director of Development. He served multiple roles with the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, including the Executive Director and had a massive influence on their growth, influence, and honorable reputation.
He was also a longtime member of Kiwanis in Oxford, at one time serving as president. He was active with Kiwanis via fundraising and direct participation in countless events.
Bill will be best known for his wit, humor, philanthropy, cartoon artistry, and believe it or not one of the best Santa Clauses you've ever seen.
A memorial will be held at Oxford Presbyterian Church, 101 North Main Street, Oxford, OH 45056 on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1 pm with fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flying Horse Farms, a free summer camp for children with serious illnesses. Participating in the camp was one of the biggest joys in his life.
