Wendell King passed away peacefully the morning of February 11, 2026 at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife Carolyn King, sons Michael (Jan) King and Steve King; grandchildren Brandon (Chris) King , Jacob (Natalie) King, Logan King and Lindsey (Vinny) Worner; and great grandchild Caden King
He was preceded in death by his mother, Allie Hammock; his son Craig King and his siblings; E.M (Janet) King, Sherdina (Mel) Dutton, Sheridan (Joyce) King, Phillip (Judy) King, Lois (Phillip) Carter, Linda (Ronnie) Waters and Kenneth (June) King.
Wendell was born in Smithtown, Kentucky in 1937. He served in the Air Force from 1954 until 1963. He received an Air Medal with his crew for the first mid-air recovery of a satellite in 1960.
He was a fiercely loyal family man, devoted and kind. He was a hard worker, supporting his family – retiring from General Motors after 30 years. Wendell was a sensitive, caring man and had a tender heart for all of God's creatures. He will be missed by all.
