Wade "Buzz" Lewis

Wade Ashby (Buzz) Lewis, 83, of Hamilton, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 15, 2026. He was born on February 3, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Ashby and Marguerite (Hanna) Lewis. Wade graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1961 and went on to complete his undergraduate and master's degrees from Ball State University. After more than 50 years in the workforce, Wade retired from the IRS in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy Ann (George) Lewis; his three children: Phil (Leslie) Lewis, Gary (Terri) Lewis, and Kimberly (Steve) Nguyen; eight grandchildren whom they treasured and were blessed to help raise: Alec (Samantha) Lewis, Elle (Zach) Zehler, Calvin Lewis, Jack (Marissa) Nguyen, Will (Miki) Nguyen, Drew (Payton) Lewis, Alex (Megan) Lewis, and Lauren (Jared) Atkinson; and seven great-grandchildren: Warren, Sawyer, Jensen, Conner, Caleb, Eli, and Asher. He is also survived by his brother, Keith (Pat) Lewis of Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Connie (John) Clutter of Texas and Deb (Kevin) Hyland of New York; his nephew, Justin (Bonnie) Clutter and their children, Riley and Casey; and nephews Skip and Bill and niece Christy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his older sister Gene, and his beloved in-laws, Phil and Ruth (Gronendyke) George.

Wade met his soulmate, Nancy, as a teenager in high school, and they remained deeply in love throughout their lives. He was extremely handy and enjoyed various woodworking projects. Additionally, he loved family trips to Hilton Head and reading about the history of the American West. While Wade will be deeply missed, his family is comforted knowing he is finally pain-free and resting with Jesus.

A private memorial service honoring Wade's life will take place at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, Hamilton, Ohio. The family appreciates everyone’s love and prayers.
