Virginia J. Wocher

Virginia was born to Mary and Ed Wocher on September 12, 1950 and grew up in Fairfield. She was raised with a strong work ethic which was made evident in her decades of employment with Pierre Foods. She retired from Pierre after 44 years of faithful service. In her spare time, Virginia enjoyed listening to music, going to concerts and playing computer games. She adored the family dog, Odie. But more than anything she loved her family and doting on her grandkids. 

She is the beloved mother of Joe (Ashley) Wocher; cherished grandmother of Makenzie Hans, Hannah (Korbin) Pettit, Christopher Wocher and honorary grandson Dawnson Hawkey; and loving sister of Patty (the late Mark) Christie. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ed, Jimmy, Joe, Marlene, Anne, Margaret, and David, as well as her parents, Mary and Ed. She was incredibly loved by her family and will be deeply missed. 

A visitation for Virginia will be held at Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Hamilton (Pleasant Ave.) on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 5 pm until time of memorial service at 6 pm.
