Shylia Madolin Carr, age of 75, passed away in the early morning of August 25, 2025, at Hospice of Cincinnati. Shylia was born on October 19, 1949, in Sacramento, California, to the late Anton John and Domenica "Minnie" (Bergamo) Lucerna. A graduate of Hiram Johnson High School in Sacramento, class of 1967, she dedicated her life to her family and found great joy in caring for her daughters as they grew up. In a beautiful celebration of love, Shylia married her devoted husband, Thomas Carr, on March 20, 1982. She cherished the moments spent with her family and was known for her love of crossword puzzles and her impressive collection of books, which brought her endless joy and comfort. Shylia leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas; daughters, Alicia Carr and Jenee (Cody) Gross; and her precious granddaughter, Abaddon Gross. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Lucerna, whose absence she felt deeply. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 3950 Pleasant Ave, Hamilton, Ohio with a funeral service will follow at 4:00PM. Shylia will be laid to rest on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 10:00AM at Dayton National Cemetery, located at 4400 W Third Street, Dayton, Ohio.
