Shirley Govreau, wife of Carl (Butch) Govreau, died suddenly on Thursday December 5, 2024. Shirley and Butch were married for over 53 years and resided in North College Hill. She was the mother of Paul Oehler, Richard Oehler, Douglas Oehler, Raymond Govreau and Saundra Govreau Osgood and grandmother of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her beloved dogs and birds gave her great joy, and she leaves Charlie the dog as another of her “children”. She was a devoted member of Northern Hills Christian Church for over 30 years.
Shirley was employed for many years at the Cincinnati Zoo in food service and also worked in health care. She was an avid scuba diver, traveling extensively for pleasure and missions.
We miss her and look forward to being reunited in heaven with her.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
