Scotty Pence

Jason Scott Pence, lovingly known as Scotty, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the age of 54.

Scotty was born in Oxford, OH in 1971 and was a graduate of Talawanda High School, Class of 1990. He went on to live an extraordinary life in the performing arts. An accomplished dancer and gymnast, he built a career that took him around the world and onto some of the most iconic stages in entertainment. His professional work included performing as a backup dancer for artists like Michael Jackson and Dolly Parton. He appeared in productions such as Beauty and the Beast at MGM Studios and Grease on Broadway. Scotty also performed at Opryland, Magic Kingdom, Disney Tokyo, and held multiple engagements with the legendary Folies Bergère. He spent time living and performing in Las Vegas and other venues all around the world.

After years on stage, Scotty returned home to West College Corner, Indiana, where he settled with the love of his life, Greg Edwards. It was there that Scotty opened Keggers Pub, where he created a true culture and community built on laughter and belonging. He opened his heart to all who knew him and, in doing so, changed many lives for the better.

Outside of his professional life, Scotty loved roller coasters, live music and shows, traveling with Greg, and camping at Camp Cedar with family. Though initially reluctant, he also became a devoted cat owner. Known for his quick wit and infectious smile, Scotty had a rare gift for making people feel understood and loved.

Scotty was preceded in death by his mother, Louise, and his nephew, Chris. He is survived by his father, Larry; his brother, David; and his nieces and nephews Jason (Britni) Pence, Kelly (Robert) Green, Samantha (Nath) Chase, Joseph Pence, his Aunt Nicki Parsons, along with great nieces and nephews, many extended family members and a chosen family of dear friends.

Scotty’s life was one of kindness, adventure, generosity, and grace. His legacy lives on in the many hearts he touched and the community he built. Donations can be made in his honor to the College Corner Methodist Church.

Services will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at College Corner United Methodist Church, 89 Church St. West College Corner, IN, with visitation 10:00am-11:30am with a funeral service to follow at 11:30am.  Burial will take place at College Corner Cemetery.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.paulyoungfuneralhome.com
