Robert John Porstner, age 68, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at The Mariemont Care Center. He was born on January 5, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late George and Katharina (Marx) Porstner. Bob served many years as a Sergeant in the United States Army, including active combat duty during the first Gulf War. Thereafter, he spent 30 years as a painting contractor before retiring in 2022. For 20 years Bob also operated his beloved "The Collector Detector" store at Traders World where he enjoyed meeting people and sharing his knowledge. He was well known to many as “Comic Bob,” a nickname that reflected his passion for comic books, collectibles, cards, knickknacks, and other cool memorabilia. It was his comfort place where he spent much of his time and built many connections. He loved the thrill of the chase and the adrenaline rush from negotiating another sale! Bob is survived by his brother, Richard (Marsha) Porstner, and his niece, Marla Porstner-Green (Richard). He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Katharina Porstner. A memorial gathering will take place at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy, Ohio 45231 on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 4:30pm-5:30pm with a memorial service to follow at 5:30pm. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.paulyoungfuneralhome.com.
