Bob passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 22nd at his home surrounded by family and just before his 63rd Wedding Anniversary. He was born on November 4th, 1937, in Hamilton Ohio.
Bob graduated from McGuffey High School in 1956 and entered the US Army. After his service, he married the love of his life, Sandra, and had 4 beautiful girls while helping farm the family homestead. He was a beloved school bus driver for a while and then became a USPS Postal Worker until he retired. His love for amateur radios was his nighttime and weekend hobby where he would talk and visit with all other radio enthusiasts. During retirement, he began his own taxi and limousine service for Oxford and enjoyed meeting all kinds of people coming to the city.
He is preceded in death by his father Donald Douglass and mother Mildred Kelly Douglass and survived by his wife Sandra Finkbine Douglass, children Beth (Darrell) Pace, Susan (Kevin) Wilson, Kathy (Bryan) Butterfield and Karen Remley. He was a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren, Douglass (Becky) Pace, Clairissa (Nelson) Lovett, Colin Wilson, Cassidy (William) Pope, Ashley (Andrew) Brehm and Brandon Butterfield, also his sister Carolyn (Fred) Matthews. He loved all the great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
The family will be there to welcome friends and family for the visitation and small service at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike, Oxford, Ohio 45056, on Monday, August 28 from 5 to 7:30pm. Service immediately following from7:30 to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oxford Presbyterian Church and Hopewell Church.
