Philip Louis Rotte passed away May 29, 2025 at the age of 75. Born June 18, 1949 to Philip and Fern (Randolph) Rotte. Preceded in death by both parents and younger brother Frank (Debi). Survived by his nephew Frank (Kailyn) and nieces Amanda (Doug), Aimee (Jorge), Marisa (Brian) as well as his great nieces Melanie and Kira, and nephews Douglas Jr., Mickey and Theodore. Philip served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1971 after his tours to Spain, Greece and France. Philip retired from Greater Cincinnati Water Works as a supervisor of maintenance in 1999. Once retired, he enjoyed his travels around the world with his many friends. Philip’s wishes were to have his funeral procession begin at the Cincinnati Public Landing, as his family made their living from that very river. His great grandfather, Louis, was a whiskey salesman; grandfather, Philip, worked for Coca-Cola; and his father, Philip, was a draft beer truck driver for multiple breweries. Philip will be brought from the public landing on an open wagon horse drawn carriage to his visitation at Northside Tavern, 4163 Hamilton Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45223. There will be a second horse drawn wagon with Marines and a saxophonist playing his favorite Jazz music. The route in which the wagon will take will proceed by his home on Jefferson Ave. There will be a gathering at Northside Tavern for final goodbyes with his friends and family starting at 12 PM and ending at 4 PM on Tuesday, June 10th. His graveside service will be private the following day at Vine Street Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Corporal Philip Louis Rotte Scholarship Fund c/o the University of Cincinnati, Online condolences can be made at www.paulyoungfuneralhome.com .
