Peggy Yvonne McCarty

Peggy is the beloved wife of the late Jason McCarty; treasured mother of the late Kevin Foster, Stephen McCarty, Jerry McCarty, Jason E. McCarty and Emily (Sam Guffey) McCarty; cherished Mamaw of Angela (Brad) Werwick, Brandon (Amelia) McCarty, Shayna (Jerry) Josupeit, Amanda (Chase) Caldwell, Megan (Tim) Mirizzi, Trevor (Arica) McCarty, L.J. (Carisa) McCarty, Rhett McCarty, Becca McCarty, Tré (Jessica) Edington, Alex Guffey, Maddi Thomas, Noah Thomas and great-grandchildren Mia and Ashtyn McCarty, Braxton, Easton, and Kinslee Caldwell, Isabella, Holden and Haven Josupeit, Asher, CeCe, Flynn and Olive Werwick; dear sister of the late Dennis Williams, Steven Hopkins and Kathy Hopkins; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. 

Peggy loved the Lord with all her heart and was the first to pray for you when in need. She was a devoted Wife for 56 years and a loving Mother of 5 beautiful children. She worked many years in the Dry-Cleaning Business until her first Grandbaby was born. Then she became a full-time Spoiler of her grandbabies. She was always available to give meaningful advice or just an ear to listen. All along praying for you or the situation behind the scenes.

Peggy always had a feast prepared for every holiday to make sure she had enough just in case she had unexpected company. No one ever went hungry when she was around. She made sure to pass along her recipes and her gift to have too much food to her children as they all now prepare or have way too much food for every occasion. 

Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will greatly be missed by all. 

Visitation for Peggy will be held at Paul R. Young Funeral Home (Pleasant Ave. in Hamilton) on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am.
