Patricia Susan Baugher

Patricia S. Baugher passed away on July 25, 2022, at Woodland County Manor, Somerville, Ohio. She was born on August 1, 1941 in Pennsylvania.

Pat earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University in 1963 and her graduate degree from Indiana University in 1970. After graduating from Duke, she spent three years in Japan working for the American Red Cross. 

Pat came to Miami University in 1970 and joined the Division of Student Affairs. She retired in 1999 from the Scripps Gerontology Center. 

Pat dedicated much of her time and energy to the betterment of the Miami and Oxford communities. Her major focus in retirement was the establishment of the Institute for Learning in Retirement at Miami University. She had a strong commitment to providing opportunities that enabled participants to broaden their horizons and engage with other life long learners. In the community, she served on the Advisory Board of the Knolls of Oxford and volunteered for the Oxford Community Foundation and McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital. 

Pat's many friends were her family. She was the definition of a loyal, dedicated and trusted friend. She will be deeply missed by her family of friends. 

Pat requested there be no service.
