Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Prescott

Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Prescott, age 73 of College Corner, Ohio passed peacefully August 14, 2024. Kathy was born on November 24, 1950, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Mary Goldie (nee Miller) and Estal Eugene Hurley. 

Kathy was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3680. She was a loving wife, mother, mamaw, and friend. She greatly enjoyed any family event, time with grandkids, going to the club and fishing. She was a positive person who had a contagious laugh. Kathy loved going on many trips with her husband, family, and friends creating memories that will last a lifetime. She was always willing to make a new friend and didn’t know a stranger. 

Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mike, her parents, her grandson Jacob Michael Prescott, her niece Rebecca Lynn Ferguson, and her brother James (the late Dorothy Bell) Hurley. Kathy leaves behind her children Kelly Lynn (Ron) Marcum and Kevin (August) Prescott; grandchildren Haley Prescott, Gabrielle Petry, and Michaela Prescott; great-grandson Jacob Michael Staples Jr; as well as many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other family members, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, 5-7 pm, all at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Oxford. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 21, 10:30 am. Interment will immediately follow at Butler County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to the American Cancer Society in Kathy’s memory.
