Joan Robinson, age 81, passed away in the early morning of August 19, 2025, at her home. Born on September 30, 1943, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Frank and Mary (Hutton) Laney, Joan was a cherished presence in the lives of her family and friends. Joan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who poured her love and energy into her family. After 19 years of dedicated service, she retired from Miami University, leaving behind many fond memories. Joan's greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren, and she found solace in the music that accompanied her life. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Ronald B. Robinson; two children, Timothy (Roberta) Robinson and Jana Boomershine (with her significant other, Tim Heineman); grandchildren, Irene (Collin) Terry, Timothy W. (Katie) Robinson, Dylan Boomershine, Tyler Robinson, and Alexis Boomershine; and great-grandson, Waylon Terry. Joan is also survived by her siblings, Sheila Tipton, Harry Laney, and Jim Laney, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Laney. She shared a deep spiritual connection with her husband as fellow Jehovah's Witnesses. Private family services are in the care of Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Oxford. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.paulyoungfuneralhome.com.
