Janice was born to Bertha (nee Weir) and Dan Shumate on September 2, 1937. She is the beloved mother of Roger (Julie) Perry and Frankie Gross; cherished grandmother of Aryn (Brooks) May, Jordan (David) Molina, Cody (Taylor) Gross, Courtney (Jesse) Isaacs, Christopher (Abigail) Gross and great-grandmother of Lincoln, Evalyn, Norah, Monroe, Gabrielle and Baby Isaacs. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Franklin Gross.
Janice was a generous giver who was known for having a big and loving heart. She owned and operated Bruno's Pizza in Oxford for 32 years and tended to it like it was her third child. Many knew her from Bruno's, but in her family she was also famous for her holiday meals, noodles, dressing and deviled eggs. She enjoyed bowling, going on girls' trips, reading Danielle Steel novels, watching sports and cheering on her grandkids at their sporting events. She always made sure to get her hair and nails done each week and she loved her Thursday shopping day. But more than anything, she loved the treasured time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She wasn't afraid to spoil them with love and affection. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Her family celebrates her union with the love of her life, Frank, as she enters Heaven.
Services for Janice will be held privately by the family with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
