Gregory Maddocks

Gregory Ernest Maddocks, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2025. Born on September 13, 1947, in Bar Harbor, Maine, Gregory was the son of the late Harlan and Patricia (Daggett) Maddocks. A one of a kind father and grandfather, he had a heart full of love for his family and will be dearly missed; especially his story telling. Gregory was an adventurous spirit (to say the least) and a true outdoorsman, finding joy in working with his hands. His hobbies included woodworking, hunting, fishing, and trapping, which brought him great fulfillment. During his time in Maine, he had the honor of building yachts for the Hinckley Brothers, with his Chickadee yacht being a particular source of pride. He is survived by his children Tana (Jaiyvonne) Richards and Sean Maddocks; grandchildren Jaiyda, Tyler, and Neeko Richards; sister Harlean Hamilton and his former wife, Virginia Maddocks. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Cia Arnold, Jeff Maddocks, and Maynard Maddocks. Private services are in the care of Paul R. Young Funeral Home, Oxford, Ohio.
