Dorothy Elizabeth Beattie Van de Ryt of Cincinnati, Ohio, age 90, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 11, 2025. Born August 3, 1935, she was the first child of Mary J. and Roy D. Beattie. She was followed by brothers Harry, James, Thomas and David. Elizabeth graduated from Norwood High School in 1953 and went to work for AMSCO Solvents & Chemicals (CHEMCENTRAL/Cincinnati) in Bond Hill. She was a life-long member at First Christian Assembly of God Church (Peoples Church) in Mt. Auburn, where she served as pianist and organist for many years. Elizabeth was married to Joseph J. Van de Ryt for 35 years, who predeceased her, as did her parents, brother James and sister-in-law JoEllen Beattie. She is survived by brothers Harry Beattie, Thomas (Pam) Beattie, and David (Stevie Ann) Beattie. Entertaining family and friends were one of Liz's favorite activities. She was a wonderful cook and hostess. Liz and Joe were long-time members of Maketewah Country Club and regular attenders at Cincinnati Pops Orchestra concerts. Elizabeth went to work for AAA Cincinnati in 1993 and retired December 31, 2020. The highlight of each year at AAA was the Children's Outing to Kings Island every June. This member-funded event took hundreds of Cincinnati's less fortunate children for a day to remember at Kings Island. Liz was loved by her family and friends. Truly a life well lived. Private family arrangements are in the care of Paul R Young Funeral Home, Hamilton, Ohio. An inurnment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to People's Church (Lead the Way Campaign) 220 Wm. Howard Taft Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45219 in memory of Elizabeth Van de Ryt.
