McKILLOP, Donald Dixon age 96 of Oxford, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of November 11, 2018. He was born on December 18, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan to Mildred and Donald A. McKillop. On August 31, 1946 he married his beloved wife Margaret (Miles) McKillop.
Don was a proud veteran of World War II serving with the 338th Harborcraft Company in France. After the war he attended Miami University on the GI Bill, graduating in 1949 from the school of business. He had a 30 year career with Square D relocating to Oxford, Chicago and later Birmingham, AL. He also enjoyed 30 years of retirement splitting his time between Oxford and Gulf Shores, AL.
Donald D. was a man of many talents including golf and cards, but mostly he had a way with people that he met, whether they were acquaintances, best friends or those whom he worked with both in his career and later with Rotary Club.
Don and Peggy traveled together, loved life and 72 years of marriage. Most of all, he was devoted to his family and friends, enhancing all of our lives. We will miss both of them but all our wonderful memories will endure.
He is survived by his daughter Beth, son-in-law Mark, grandchildren Sean, Cody, Brian (Megan) and Logan (Shawn) and their children. He was preceded in death by his wife, “Peggy” this past New Year’s Day and his son Christopher many years ago, and many beloved friends and family members.
