Diana Bateman (Neal), age 68, born September 15, 1957, to Armeda (Plowman) Neal and Milton Neal, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on November 16, 2025.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio, Diana carried the heart of her hometown with her as she spent the majority of her adult life in Florida. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Ted Bateman, on October 2, 1998. Together, they built a life full of joy, adventure, and deep companionship.
A talented graphic designer, Diana retired from BIC Graphic after a long and fulfilling career. Creativity came naturally to her, and she poured that same artistry into her life—into the way she laughed, loved, and connected with those around her.
Diana embraced life with an open heart and a joyful spirit. She was happiest with Ted and their family, whether they were enjoying the warmth of sandy beaches or taking in the quiet beauty of mountain clouds. In 2022, Diana and Ted returned to Ohio to be closer to family, bringing their warmth and love back home.
Diana was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate, Ted Bateman; her parents, Milton and Armeda Neal; her brother David Neal; her mother-in-law Ora Bateman; and her nephew Kenny Neal.
She is survived by her siblings: Luther (Vicky) Neal, Frieda Sorber, Arthur (Sharon) Neal, Terry (Shelly) Neal, and Carl (Nancy) Neal. Diana also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews—each of whom she shared a special and meaningful bond with.
Diana will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, her laughter, and the way she made every person feel uniquely loved. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her spirit and memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike, Oxford, OH 45056.
A burial will take place at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Johnson City, TN at a later date.
