Charles R Herms, Jr.

Charles R. Herms, Jr., son of the late C. Richard Herms and Katherine (Keeth) Herms, passed away on August 12, 2025.  Charles was a cherished soul whose kindness, warmth, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him. 

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on April 23, 1950, he graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.

Charles was an avid global traveler and philanthropist, with a true passion for working on behalf of the underprivileged and against discrimination.  He loved music, gardening, and entertaining his family and friends.

He has resided in Oxford, Ohio for many years.  He is survived by his brother James K. Herms of Cambridge, Massachusetts, his many beloved cousins, and devoted friends. 

A memorial service in honor of Charles will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions be made to a charity of your choice.  Arrangements are under the direction of Paul R. Young Funeral Home
