Carolyn Stormer Obituary

Carolyn “Jane” Stormer, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born on November 2, 1944, in Mount Orab, Ohio, to Lola and Harry “Shine” Patten. She grew up alongside her brothers, Dan “Gus”, David, and Ronald. After high school, she moved to Cincinnati where she built the life and family she cherished.

Jane was the devoted wife of Gerald “Gerry” Stormer and a proud and loving mother to Wade and Leigh Ann Connelly. She was an especially proud grandmother to Laney, Jax, Jilli, and Brodey, who brought her endless joy.

Jane was a natural caretaker with a generous heart and a gift for making others feel welcome. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, often stepping in as a protector, problem-solver, and steady source of strength. Quick-witted and never at a loss for words, she brought humor, confidence, and sharp instincts to every situation.

While warm and giving by nature, Jane was also a savvy and determined businesswoman who handled life's details with skill and confidence. She had a talent for numbers, loved solving problems, and took great pride in managing finances and staying one step ahead of life’s challenges. Those same skills made her a formidable adversary to the IRS and anyone else who underestimated her attention to detail.

That competitive spirit carried over to the card table. If a euchre game was available, Jane was ready—and usually hard to beat.

A true Cincinnati sports fan, Jane enthusiastically supported Ohio State, the University of Cincinnati, and the other love of her life, the Cincinnati Bengals. She was “Who Dey!” through and through.  March Madness was another favorite time of year and she rarely missed a game, no matter who was playing.

Jane also had a well-known sweet tooth and never turned down a good treat—except anything with peanut butter. She loved finding a bargain and enjoyed thrift stores, garage sales, and any good deal she could uncover. If you complimented something she wore, she would happily tell you where she found it and how little she paid.

Jane’s warmth, humor, strength, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In accordance with her wishes, a celebration of Jane’s life will be held outdoors this spring. Details will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to American Legion Wesley Warner Post 513 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
