Calvin Lee Palmer

June 27, 1948 - April 20, 2023

 

Calvin Lee Palmer, age 74 of Oxford, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Calvin was born on June 27, 1948 in Akron, OH, the son of John and Irene (nee: Turanchik) Palmer, and was the Brother of Brett and Brian Palmer. Calvin served his country proudly in the United States Airforce from 1967-1971. After the Air Force, Calvin went to work as a Lab Tech for PPG. He was a member of the Waverly American Legion, the Waverly AMVETS, and the Disabled American Veterans of Piketon. In his spare time, Calvin enjoyed spending time outside, hunting and fishing. 

 

Preceded in death by his parents, Calvin leaves behind his loving wife LaVerne (nee: Orr) Palmer; children Chris (Sara) Palmer and Courtney (Josh) Smith; step-daughter Ginger (Andrew) Amarantos; grandchildren Ryan Palmer, Jonah Palmer, Rex Smith, Themio Amarantos, and Nikolas Amarantos; as well as many other family members and friends. 

 

A graveside service with military honors will be held on May 02, 2023 at 1pm at the Dayton National Cemetery. Those attending the graveside service should arrive to the cemetery and proceed to the procession staging area between 12:45 and 12:50 pm.
