Ellsworth William “Bill” Payne, 91, of Loveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at Hospice of Cincinnati.
Born October 27, 1934, at Waterford, Ohio, Bill served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as an air traffic controller. He was a man of deep faith who lived his life for the Lord, a guiding foundation in both his work and his relationships.
Bill retired from Procter & Gamble after a long and dedicated career as a research chemist. In retirement, he continued to serve others through volunteer work with Meals on Wheels, offering quiet kindness and consistency to those in need. He was also an avid college basketball fan who enjoyed following and cheering on his favorite teams.
He was the beloved husband of Jeanne Payne; loving father of Michael Payne, Kimberly Renner, Valeria Benton, and Karen Gill; cherished grandfather and great-grandfather; and dear brother of Linda O'Lynn.
Bill will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on May 14, 2026 from 6 - 7 PM at Paul R. Young Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy. A funeral service will be held on May 15, 2026 at 11 AM at Christ Covenant Church. He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery.
