Obituary for Alma "Adele" Branigan

Alma "Adele" Branigan, 89, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025 in the comfort of her own home. She was born on July 30, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Elmer and Mary  Elizabeth (Schomaker) Sunderbruch. In July of 1955, Adele married Charles Kenneth Branigan and he preceded her in death in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Klug.

Adele is survived by her children, Diane (Daniel) Mueller, Elaine (Paul) Hoblitzell, Colleen (Fred) Tipon, Chuck Branigan, Glenn (Amy) Branigan and Stephen (Kathie) Branigan, 13+ grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and sister, Mary Rose Galbraith.

Adele graduated from Mount St. Joseph College in 1983. She worked security for many years at McAlpins and later, JC Penny, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and served as past-president of the St. James Ladies Society.

Adele's passion in life was her family. When she was not being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she spent her time watering her garden and tending her geraniums, roses, and pansy's. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time surrounded by nature.

The family will receive friends at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45231, on Monday, January 27th, 2025, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 27th, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Joseph New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati HERE.
