Mary Kathleen "Kate" Newman, loving wife for 63 years of the late Wm Newman Jr., age 97, died peacefully September 27th, 2024. Beloved mother of Linda Branam, the late Wm S (JoAnn) Newman and Betty (Jeff) Whittington. Cherished grandmother of Tracy Lagory, Amy Branam, Susie Dashley, Sara McCullough, Laura Newman, Lisa Newman, Katie Newman, David Newman, Kayla Weil and Alex Whittington. Also survived by 16 great grandchildren, 22 great-great grandchildren and many loved nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her Douglas brothers Earl, Arthur, Aubrey, Herman, Jack, and sisters Ethel Goodwin and Georgia Holley. Kate worked at McAlpins and the North College Hill post office, was a longtime member of Lifespring Christian Church in NCH and also Eastern Star. She enjoyed volunteering, gardening, reading, traveling and most of all family and friends. She was generous, kind, lucky at cards and hilarious at Pictionary. Friends & family are welcome to join us in saying goodbye to this sweet lady on Friday, October 4th from 5 to 7 PM at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Mt. Healthy, OH 45231. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, October 5th at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
