Lee Franklin
Hooker
Oct 6, 1936 — Apr 2, 2026
Maineville
Lee Franklin Hooker, age 89, sadly passed away at his home on the afternoon of April 2, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1936, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to the late Sidney and Dorothy (Howard) Hooker. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After his stent in the Army, Lee dedicated over 40 years of his life to General Electric before retiring.
Lee is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Darlene (Berkemeier) Hooker; son Daryl Lee (Autumn) Hooker; cherished grandson, Easton Lee Hooker. Lee also leaves behind his dear nieces, Abrielle Weaver and Santanna Weaver, and his sisters, Billie Jean Duff and Bonnie Winkler. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings EJ, Norman, and Juanita.
A true family man, Lee worked tirelessly, often putting in 90-hour weeks to ensure that his family had everything they needed. His strength and dedication were matched by his warmth and humor—he had a gift for storytelling that brought joy to those around him. He especially cherished the moments spent with his little buddy, Easton, and shared a special bond with his niece, Abrielle. Despite his fierce love for his family, he had a stubborn streak that only made him more endearing!
Lee's welcoming spirit and open-door policy made him a source of support for family and friends alike. He loved going on vacations, with outdoor adventures like camping and fishing bringing him great joy. The occasional card game provided opportunities for laughter and connection.
A visitation to honor Lee's life will take place at Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Mount Healthy on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a funeral service will follow on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. After the service, Lee will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Memorial Park. We invite family and friends to share their heartfelt condolences on the Tribute Wall at www.paulyoungfuneralhome.com.
