JOYCE SUE SMITH

JULY 6, 1940 - DECEMBER 20, 2023

Joyce Sue Smith, known by friends and family as Sue, was born on July 6, 1940 in Laurel  County, Kentucky to Seva (nee Cecil) and Howard C. Huff. She married John Smith on July 14, 1957 and together they raised two children and enjoyed many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Beloved wife of John Smith; devoted mother of Darleena Jean (Ray) Thenot and John Derrick (Robin) Smith; cherished grandmother of Brittany (Warren) Sizemore, Amanda Gentry, Lauren (Josh) Duncan, Annabella Smith, Elizabeth Smith and great-grandmother of Raelyn Sizemore, Rhett Sizemore and Elizabeth Sue Duncan. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: George Huff, Laverne "Petie" Hicks, Loretta Rhea, Kenneth Huff, Juaita Hughes and Jean Wood.

A visitation for Sue will be held at Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Oxford on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 5 pm until a time of prayers and remembrance shortly before 7 pm.
