Springfield Twp - John Marx, beloved husband of Melitta Marx for 62 years. Devoted father of John D Marx and Lydia Marx, cherished grandfather of John A Marx, Alissa Marx, Samantha
Farnsley, and Sierra Farnsley. Preceded in death by his parents Jakob and Katharina Marx, sisters, and brothers-in-law; Katharina (George) Porstner, Susanna (John) Trendler, and Maria (Rudy) Rengers John passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 90 John is an Army veteran, who served in the Korean War. He spent many years working in the commercial construction industry, eventually becoming president of Dugan and Meyers Construction and ultimately owning his own construction company, Newberg International. His final job before retiring was the Sharon Centre & Nature's Niche at Sharon Woods, a place he'd often take his grandchildren. John was an avid animal lover, he enjoyed feeding the birds and raccoons at his home. He and Melitta would assist Lydia with her horses, donkey, and goat. While Melitta did the feeding, John would often be found in the goat stall, giving treats. Besides caring for his animals, John liked to work on restoring old cars and working in the yard. Growing up, the neighborhood kids recall hearing John play his accordion, a talent he acquired at a young age.

Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday December 9th from 12-3pm in the clubhouse at the Savoy at the Streets of West Chester, 6095 Village Center Avenue, West Chester OH 45069. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to 2nd Hand Paws Animal Rescue at SECOND HAND PAWS.
