Obituary

Jeffrey Howard Woltz, 46, of Cincinnati OH, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 10th, 2026.

Born in Lancaster, Ohio, he was a 1998 graduate of Bloom-Carroll High School, where his passion for football and competitive spirit first began to shape his future. He continued his education at Capital University, earning a varsity letter all four years. His dedication was reflected in his remarkable record of 40 starts in 40 games, a testament to his work ethic, determination, and love for the sport.

In 2002, he began his career in education and coaching at Mt. Healthy High School. In 2008, he joined Colerain High School, teaching health and physical education while serving as offensive coordinator for the football team. He later became Dean of Students, supporting and guiding students in a broader role. Cruising the halls with music playing and strobe lights flashing, he patrolled with his red rolling cart, affectionately named “Rollin Justice”. He also served as a KISR liaison for students in foster care. Beginning in 2022, he joined the football coaching staff at St. Xavier High School for the offensive line ( F.O.O.L) where he continued sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for the game.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was known for his larger-than-life personality and generous spirit. His positivity, energy, and sense of humor made people feel welcome, and he had a gift for bringing joy to those around him. He saw the best in others and made lasting impressions wherever he went. He had a passion for traveling and took many trips with his family and made lasting memories.

As a teacher and coach, he understood that football was about more than competition. He used the sport to teach perseverance, character, teamwork, and confidence. His guidance shaped the lives of countless students and athletes, many of whom will carry his lessons with them for years to come.

Family was at the center of his life. He is survived by his children, Jackson, Delaney, Emmaline, and Abby; his soulmate, Jessica Marcum and her children, Carly, Sam, and Jazmine; his parents, Greg and Shirley Woltz; his sister, Jennifer Wildermuth (Jess); his niece, Hannah; and his nephew, Luke (Sarah). He also leaves behind extended family, many friends, colleagues, former players, students, and members of the community whose lives were forever changed by knowing him.

He will be remembered for his enormous heart, his unwavering positivity, his passion for football, and his ability to make life a little brighter for everyone around him. The world was a better place with him in it, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of loving him.

In lieu of flowers, the family is diligently working on setting up a foundation for a scholarship fund to honor Jeff’s memory for students at Colerain High School. Once the foundation is established, the family will share information on social media.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 17th at Monfort Heights Methodist Church, in Cincinnati, OH. Visitation from 11:00am-2:00pm with the funeral service starting at 2pm.
