Douglas Reed Shelton was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 14, 1961 to Nellie V. (nee Simpson) and John Shelton, Jr. He is the beloved brother of Johnnie Shelton-Horner, Dennis (Carrie) Shelton and the late David Scott Shelton; dear father of Rachel Miller and grandfather of Edward Miller, Noah Miller, Bella Miller, Hope Miller and Trinity Lancaster; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He loved fishing, bowling, staying active and living life to the fullest.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 Paul R. Young Funeral Home (Mt. Healthy) from 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
