Obituary

Dominic Vito "Nick" Augustine, 82, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, at the Hospice of Cincinnati. Born August 11, 1944 to Geneva (Hubbard) Augustine and Dominic Augustine formerly D'Agostino. Nick was the second of 5 siblings. His love of family and easy-going nature placed him in an early leadership role for his younger twin siblings and sister. His early years were shaped by the care of his mother, Geneva, and the sisters of St. Joseph orphanage, experiences that likely instilled in him the resilience and gentle gratitude that he was known for.

As a teen, Nick found friendship and an occasional dislocated shoulder on the football field at Purcell High School. As a young adult, he was encouraged to look into an electrician apprenticeship, and at a young age, he found his business pathway. Nick lived a life characterized by hard work, friendship, and an appreciation for life's simple pleasures. A lifelong Master Electrician and businessman, he believed in working hard, enjoying the things he loved, and making the most of the time he had with the people who mattered most. He was always the first to the party and last to leave, but only after he helped finish the dishes.

Never one to complain, Nick approached life with a quiet appreciation for what each day brought. He found happiness in the outdoors, whether hunting or fishing, and especially on the golf course. Golf was not only a pastime, but a source of lasting friendships, treasured memories and annual trips he looked forward to year after year. Nick loved his times spent traveling with friends, including motorcycle trips out west, to Canada and the annual golf trips to Florida with his buddies. Known for a solid 36 holes on most weekends, he was always fast with a smile and perhaps the ability to recount his last round. More importantly, he valued the time he spent with friends who loved him.

He will be remembered as a hardworking businessman, a loyal friend, a tremendous uncle and a man who understood that a good life doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes, it is found in a day spent outdoors, some time sunning in his hammock, a round of golf with the guys, or simply being together. Nick leaves behind a legacy of hard work, but most pointedly, deep love and pride for his family He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the stories shared and the character of the man we loved. For the friends and family who have preceded him in death, also to cancers or to the many trials in life, we adore that he has joined them in heaven, released of the earthly discomforts of which he would have never complained.

Nick will be remembered as a kind and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. Nick is survived by his siblings Russell (Linda) Augustine, Joseph (Cathy) Augustine and Richard Augustine, the late Marla A. Brearton, their children Tony, Lisa, Tina, Donnie, Kristin, Brian, and Michael and a boatload of great nephews and nieces who absolutely adored him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th from 10 AM until time of the service at 11 AM at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 5222 Northbend Road, Cincinnati, OH 45247. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph New Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations directed to Hospice Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Rd., Blue Ash, OH 45242 in appreciation for the great care Nick received. Paul R. Young Funeral Home (Mt.
