Charles was born in Hamilton, Ohio to Mary Florence Graham and Claude Hillard Higdon on January 14, 1941. He served in the United States Navy and was a proud military veteran. Charles worked as an engineer for the Cincinnati Board of Education and also attended St. Vivian Catholic Church in Finneytown.

Charles is survived by his daughter Margaret Gaye Higdon-Wallace and his son Christopher Charles Higdon; grandchildren Theodore Anthony (Lindsay) (Liam great-grandson) Wallace, Bashur El and Farasha El; cousin Margaret Higdon; brother Claude Anton Higdon; niece Lynda (Barry) Bates and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his mother Mary Florence Graham, father Claude Hillard Higdon, and son Michael Anthony Higdon. He will be missed by his two dogs Teddy and Chester.

A visitation for Charles will be held at Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Mt. Healthy on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 10 am until time of service at 11 am with burial to immediately follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
