A perfect quote for Betty Barnhart's 103 year milestone. Born November 26, 1920, to Frank and Helen Stephenson Keller, she has seen and experienced much from the Depression, WWII, the polio epidemic, the ongoing social and political upheavals and the pandemic. She's was an Oxford fixture since she was born - her family roots go back to the early 1800s. Bright and talented she attended McGuffey where she became an accomplished violinist and read her way around the school library. A devoted wife to husband, Edward Barnhart, and with his passing to "Bud" Hollis. She was a top notch 1950s "mother knows best" to Bill, Pat, Tucker and Scott and a "hands-on" loving grandmother and great grandmother.

She gave her time and talents as a Cub Scout and Brownie leader, Presbyterian Church bazaar chair, DAR regent, PEO member and numerous other groups. She was capable, generous and fun loving and always had a zest for life never losing her sense of humor and optimism despite the adversities she was facing. Like many women of her generation, she was the glue that held together families and our community.
