Springfield Twp. – William H. Shroyer, Jr. Devoted husband of 65 years to Wanda Lee Shroyer nee Rohr. Loving father of Lindy L. Stasen (Edward), Gregory W. Shroyer (Linda), Jeffrey D. Shroyer (Kristin), and Stuart M. Shroyer (Steph). Proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren & eleven great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Jean Bresnen nee Shroyer and Vera Molloy nee Shroyer. Preceded in death by his parents, William H. Shroyer, Sr. and Lillian Shroyer nee Miller, and by his daughter, Cindy S. Emmert (Edward). Bill passed away on March 27, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Graduate of Walnut Hills High School (1947) & of the Ohio State University (1951). Lifelong avid outdoorsman. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army from 1951-1953. Bill continued his service as a member of the Golf Manor Fire Dpt. from 1954-1960 and as a member of the Northern Hills Fire Dpt. for 25 years, eventually rising to Assistant Chief before his retirement. Bill was owner & operator of the W.H. Shroyer Nursery from 1968 until his passing. Past President of the Ohio State Firefighters Association (1981). Past President of the Hamilton County Farm Bureau. Past Master of the College Hill-Harry S. Johnson Masonic Lodge #641. Bill was a member of the Greenhills-Forest Park Kiwanis, Knights Templar #3, Royal Arch Masons of Ohio #2, and of Greenhills American Legion Post #530. Faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church for sixty years. First visitation will be held on Monday, April 2nd from 5 to 8 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 8265 Winton Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45231. Second visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3rd from 10 AM until time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment at Arlington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church (Elevator Fund) and VITAS Community Connection, 11500 Northlake Dr. Ste. 400, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
