Thomas McGreevy Obituary

Thomas I. McGreevy, 89, passed away on February 4, 2018 at Woodland Country Manor in Somerville, Ohio.  He was the first of 4 sons born to Albert A. and Martha (Stuhlmueller) McGreevy.  A graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School and Miami University (Ohio), Tom also served in the U.S. Army in Inchon, Korea. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Mary Jane (Batt) McGreevy. Also, his children Ann M. Slone (John), Thomas I. McGreevy, Jr. (Kaye), Marilyn M. Micciche (Romano) and Daniel A. McGreevy.  His 5 grandchildren include Lauren M. Sellet (Nick), John L. Slone, III, Kathleen A. Slone, Thomas I. McGreevy, III and Ryan A. McGreevy.  Also great-grandchildren Nicholas and Maggie Sellet.  He was predeceased by his brother Gerald A. McGreevy and is survived by two brothers, Michael C. McGreevy (Laura) and Parnel C. McGreevy.  Also many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Tom was New England District Sales Manager for Champion International. He enjoyed a second career as a realtor in Naples, Florida upon his retirement from the paper business. He and Mary Jane enjoyed 22 wonderful years in Naples before returning “home” to Oxford, OH in 2008.  He loved tennis and golf and his family is especially grateful for the wonderful vacations he and Mary Jane provided in Michigan, Maine, New Hampshire, Cape Cod and Naples.

After retiring, Tom and Mary Jane were able to enjoy many parts of the world, especially Ireland. Visitation at St. Mary’s Church, 111 E. High Street, Oxford, Ohio will be at 10am on Friday, February 9th, followed by Mass at 11am  Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Hamilton, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s name can be made to Woodland Country Manor, 4166 Somerville Rd., Somerville, OH.  The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the love and care Tom received from the amazing staff at Woodland Country Manor.
