Robert H. "Bob" Baier

Robert Hobart Baier, age 70, passed away on January 3, 2019 at his Oxford home. He was the son of the late Robert and Rosalee (Edwards) Baier.

He graduated from Richmond High School in 1967 and Brigham Young University in 1974. Bob was employed at Belden Corp. for 23 years and retired as a Strategic Procurement Officer at Miami University in 2016.

His life was filled with service and many achievements. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in the North British Mission (1967-69), as Bishop of the Richmond, Indiana Ward, and in many church positions.

He spent many years in service to youth as a Boy Scout Leader (Troops 114 and 953), soccer coach, foster parent, and job coach.

In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley, camping and hiking, fine carpentry, and playing with his dogs: Max, Buttons, and Trixie.

Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen (Dale) Baier, and his brother, Richard Charles Baier. He is a loving father to Sharen Baier Lopez, Lucy Baier (Barry) Pierce, Robert Dale (Martha) Baier, Aaron (Julie) Baier, Sarah Baier Bowman, Matthew (Jackie) Baier, Phillip Baier, Scott Baier, Christopher Baier, Michelle Baier, Amie Baier, David Baier, James Andrew Baier, Karena Baier (Joseph) Mevissen, Jacob Baier, William Baier, Nathan Baier, and Rusty Dooley. He is a proud grandfather of 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
