Beloved husband of the late Darlene Brumley (nee Stone). Devoted father of Lisa (Michael) Rhoten and the late Barbara “Joy” Barrett and Connie Erback. Cherished grandfather of Natasha (Joe) Gray, Michael Rhoten, Bradley and Kyle Burton. Dear great-grandfather of Serenity, Maci and Joey Gray and Adrienne Rhoten. John passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the age of 82. He was a proud union painter for over 35 years and an avid horse racing fan. Visitation will be held at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Mt. Healthy on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 12noon- 2PM with a graveside service to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Rd., Mt. Healthy.
