Jeffrey Quinton Moore, age 58, died peacefully on June 8, 2018 at the Hospice Atlanta Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on December 30, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to Alonza “Tony” and Florence (Jefferson) Moore. He grew up in Oxford, Ohio and was a 1977 graduate of Talawanda High School, where he thrived as an athlete who played football and wrestled. After high school Jeffrey joined the United States Air Force and served for six years. He was stationed in San Antonio, TX, which was his home for many years before moving to Atlanta, Georgia. He joined the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development in September 1986 and worked as an analyst until he retired in December 2017, after 31 years of service. Jeffrey was a sports enthusiast who loved to fish. Prior to his death, he wanted to move back to San Antonio, TX to spend his retirement fishing on a pontoon boat, volunteering with the Salvation Army and traveling to spend time with his grandchildren.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother Florence. He is survived by his father Alonza; a brother Kenneth Moore; a sister Toni Denise (Terriel) Byrd; a daughter Doronna (Greg) Vickers; two sons Demetrius (Lashonda) Fields and Quinton Moore; grandchildren Kelsey (David), Kamiah, Dayla, Dean, Demetrius, Drew, Dana, Jackson and Daniel; and a host of family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 15 at Ogle & Paul R. Young Funeral Home, located at 5086 College Corner Pike in Oxford, Ohio. The memorial service will begin at noon, followed by a repast at First Baptist Church, located at 6701 Ringwood Road in Oxford.
