Herbert N. Gesell

GESELL, Herbert N., beloved husband of Karen (nee Nixon) Gesell for 55 years, loving father of Michael Gesell, Laurie (Greg) Kunkel, Jeff (Missy) Gesell. Adoring grandfather of August (Sarah) Kunkel, Mason Gesell, Forrest (Erin) Kunkel, Emma (Casey) Jones and Winston Kunkel. Survived by two sisters, Marlene Sloneker, Elaine (Don) Smith and a sister in-law, Estelle Gesell. Preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Elsie Gesell; a brother, Marvin; a great granddaughter, Jocelyn Grace Gesell. Herb passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2018 at the age of 76. A firefighter for several years in College Corner and a member of the Union County Sheriffs Merit Board. Worked at the front door of McCullough Hyde Hospital for 13 years. A member of the Old Franklin United Methodist Church. He worked most of his life in the agricultural industry helping farmers. A visitation will take place at the College Corner United Methodist Church, 89 Church St, West College Corner, Indiana 47003 on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 4 pm until 7 pm. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7 pm. Donations may be made to College Corner Fire Department, College Corner United Methodist Church or the Old Franklin United Methodist Church.
