Flo Kraushar, the Founder and co-owner of Camp Wildbrook, a summer camp which has been serving Cincinnati Area children since 1952, passed away August 19, 2018 at the age of 93. She touched so many lives and nourished the minds and hearts of everyone who knew her due to her warmth, vibrance and kindness towards others. She was a pillar of the communities in which she was a part. Flo was a lifelong educator, starting a nursery school and kindergarten in her younger years, then teaching Phys-Ed for the University of Cincinnati and serving as PTA president of several Mt. Healthy City Schools. She was a long standing member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and was a proud, active member of the Evergreen Retirement Community. Flo was a graduate of Western Hills High School and graduated from Miami University where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. As an avid sports enthusiast, she played golf, tennis, bowling and was also a fan of the UC Bearcats. Flo loved nature, the outdoors and the arts. She will be deeply missed.
Flo was the devoted mother of Gary Kraushar, Dr. Scott (Donna) Kraushar, Gayle K. (Steve) Lucas, Karen K. (Robert) Barnes, and Dr. David (Amy) Kraushar; Loving grandmother of Chris Kraushar, Grant Kraushar, Rob (Brianna) Kraushar, Matt Kraushar, Sarah Kraushar, Jon Lucas, Katie Lucas, Andrea (Jason) Carrier, 1st Lt. R. Tyler Barnes, Emily Kraushar, David Kraushar, and Ethan Kraushar; Cherished great-grandmother of Rylan Kraushar, Hudsyn Kraushar, Adalynne Kraushar and Ella Carrier; and sister-in-law to Irma Kraushar and Carl Kraushar. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert P. Kraushar; parents, John E. Grasser and Emma Grasser (nee Taint); and Siblings, Dorothea Grasser and Edward J. Grasser.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 25, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 703 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm before the service and will continue after the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00pm. Interment at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
