Dan R. Croswell, 69, of Oxford, Ohio, passed away after a long illness on November 7, 2018, at home, in his family’s loving arms.
Dan was born in Middletown, Ohio on September 4, 1949, to Grace Irene Carter and Ralph McKibben Croswell. He graduated from Lakota High School in Liberty Township, Ohio. After four years in the U.S. Navy, Dan continued his education with a Bachelors of Arts in Education and Master of Fine Arts from Miami University.
Dan was a metalsmith and abstract artist and enjoyed gardening, walking his dog Rags, spending time with his grandsons, auto racing, antique trucks, fast motorcycles, and Jeopardy to the end! For many years, Dan was the behind-the-scenes gardener of the Children’s Garden at Oxford Community Arts Center.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Caroline Lehman-Croswell: two children, Aaron Croswell and wife Alix, Megan Croswell and husband Chris Landis, and four grandchildren, Levi and Owen Croswell, and Ethan and Noah Landis, sister Nancy Jordan and her husband Charlie, and other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the following non-profits: Oxford Community Arts Center, Children’s Arts Programs, 10 South College Avenue, Oxford, Ohio 45056 and The Wilfried Leder Oncology Center, McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital Foundation, 110 North Poplar Street, Oxford, Ohio 45056.
