Charles L. Foust Jr., 64, of Oxford, Ohio, passed away in a tragic car accident on February 26, 2019. He was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on May 14, 1954 to Charles L. and Cora Lee Foust. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lee and a son, Jason Foust.
Chuck is survived by his father, his wife, Ann and children, Joel Foust (Emily), Holly Yuva (Jeff), Kyle McGhehey (Cecilie). Chuck adored his beloved grandchildren, Max and Kieran Howard; Violet and Vance Yuva; Flynn, Colleen and Frederick McGhehey and Chris Hendrix.
He is also survived by brothers, Rev. Bill Foust (Chris), Rocky Foust (Trish) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Foust family first came to Oxford in the early 1970’s where Chuck graduated from Talawanda High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University under an ROTC scholarship. Chuck served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 until 1980, where he earned the rank of Lieutenant and was part of the Admirals staff. Upon completion of his military service, Chuck entered the corporate world, while also obtaining his MBA. While employed by General Electric, he earned the moniker, “The Darth Vader” of logistics. After GE, Chuck returned to Oxford, where he met and married his wife, Ann.
Chuck was a jack of all trades, as he had many interests and passions. He was very proud to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout and was serving as liaison to a local Boy Scout Troop sponsored by St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where he served on Council. Chuck inherited an avid love of reading from both parents. He was known for his amazing culinary skills, love of horses, hats, politics as well as his legendary garage sales.
Chuck’s latest adventure included bartending at Municipal Brew Works in Hamilton where he enjoyed conversing with the patrons.
A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 4411 Hamilton Richmond Rd, Oxford, OH 45056, on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:30 PM followed by a Celebration of Life from 3:00 until 5:00 PM.The burial will be private.
